Student Ministry

The heart of the Student Ministry at Mountain States is to teach kids about who God is and how His Word applies to their lives in creative and memorable ways. Through engaging teaching, supportive environments, and close knit small group classes, we guide kids towards a better understanding of what it means to have a real relationship with God. We want kids to know that the Bible is full of interesting stories that matter in their lives today, that fun and games are definitely allowed at church, that worship can be full of loud music and silly dancing, and that there are adults in the church who truly want to love and lead them closer to Jesus. In other words, we want them to know that where God is, life is a lot more fun!

Nursery care is provided for infants, birth to 24 months. This ministry is offered concurrently with our Sunday morning Bible Study classes. Our goal is to provide a warm, safe environment for our very young children where they can begin their life as part of the Lord’s family. We believe that children are a gift from God, and our desire is to prefer them and minister to their little spirits. Nursery care is provided during all Sunday morning services.

Our vision and desire is to partner with parents in training up the next generation of world changers. Our purpose is to provide a safe and fun environment for Preschoolers, serve the children and families of Mountain States and minister to each child in a way that allows them to grow in God’s love for them. Through Bible verse memorization, age appropriate Bible lessons, engaging activities, prayer and worship, we encourage Preschoolers to grow deeper and closer to God in a tangible way.

Each week elementary students from 1st to 5th grades are welcomed into a fun, safe and engaging environment.  More importantly, children are invited to discover and experience God through interactive worship, age-appropriate teaching and discussion groups with their peers.  Because you, as parents, are the primary influencer of your child, we are committed to communicating and collaborating with you every step of the way.  Each weekend service is meant to be a springboard for you and your child to grow closer to God and each other.

Middle and High school

If you spend any time around our church at all, you’ll quickly learn one thing: we love students. They’re smart. They’re funny. They’re bold. And they’re bursting with potential. We truly believe that the middle and high school students in our midst are world changers in the making.

That’s why student ministry is such a huge part of what we do at Mountain States. We want to guide our students in developing a personal faith in Christ as they step into their specific roles in the story He’s writing with their lives. We work hard to create environments that engage students in good conversation about God, encouraging them to ask questions, search out answers, and truly learn to listen to His leading in their lives…and maybe even have a little fun while they’re at it! After all, if life in Christ is truly the best life we can live, shouldn’t we encourage our students to enjoy living it to the fullest?

Currently, Pastor David and Regina draw on their 16 years of active ministry with teens to lead the weekly Teen Life Group on Friday evenings from 6:30-8pm, and plan regular activities as well as Winter and Summer Camps! It is open to all “teens” in 6th through 12th grades.

We know that the middle and high schools years are a time where students are most in need of kindness and community and someone to walk alongside them as they grow. Our student ministry provides just that, connecting students with one another as well as with leaders who want to support them in their journeys. Both middle and high school groups meet weekly, each focusing on worship, teaching, and small groups to encourage students in their faith.
